Wedgewood Gives Back to the Community

WASHINGTON, DC—Wedgewood Consulting Group, a leader in workforce development solutions, contributed to their community support initiative on Friday, April 17, 2009 by spending the afternoon volunteering at the American Horticultural Society (AHS) River Farm "Spring Garden Market" event in Alexandria, Virginia.

The River Farm grounds, set on one of the five original George Washington Farms, housed some two dozen local agricultural and horticultural associations that offered their services to the public. Members of the Wedgewood DC Team assisted in various functions throughout the farm, including a mobile lemonade and snack stand, raffle ticket and gift shop sales, and parking attendance.

Supporting the community and non-profit organizations is an important objective for the Wedgewood DC team. The ongoing economic difficulties have left AHS and similar non-for-profit organizations struggling to meet the challenges in achieving their goals. Giving back to the community is an activity enjoyed by the Wedgwood DC Team, and has a great impact on both AHS as an institution and the members of the organization who rely on support from the community and local businesses to keep their interests, and good works, viable for the benefit of everyone.
